Then the King will say to those on his right, "Enter, you who are blessed by my Father! Take what is coming to you in this kingdom. It's been ready for you since the worlds foundation. And here is why:

I was hungry and you feed me, I was thirsty and you gave me a drink, I was homeless and you gave me a room, I was sick and you stopped to visit, I was in prison and you came to me."

Then those "sheep" are going to say, "Master what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and gave you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison, and come to you? Then the King will say, I am telling you the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone that was me- overlooked or ignored you did it to me." Matt- 25: 34-39

These words exemplify our many mission trips to the bayous of Louisiana. Living conditions in that area are some of the worst in the United States and are more akin to a third world country then a nation of affluence. Many people make a living working in a warehouse or going out on boats for 2 or more weeks at a time. Shrimping is a primary business, but its seasoned in nature. Many people live in homes that are little more then shacks and yet they take pride in them because they have been a part of there families for generations. These are the homes that are yearly prone to water and hurricane damage and our team is there to keep up with the repairs. There is no self-righteousness' in going to help these families there is a profound feeling of satisfaction in working hard and getting a job done, in giving oneself with no strings attached and in getting to know one another better. Most of all we share a lot of fun and laughter and those who have gone want to go again and again. It is not so much "Me and Jesus" but "We and Jesus" as we live out our faith in love.

Our mission trip to Dulac this year will be from Feb 19-28,2010. We will again be taking a small trailer so we'll have room for good used cloths (adult and Children) shoes, quilts, kitchen items, toiletries (soap, shampoo, tooth paste , brushes ect.) those items my be brought to the church, there they will be collection boxes in the church addition. We will also be taking book bags for the preschoolers at the mission.

       Thank you,  La
