Pleasant Corners United Methodist Church
We celebrated our 150th anniversary on July 27, 2014.
Prior to the formation of the United Methodist Church
we were in the pietist tradition of the Evangelical
United Brethren. People who visit are often moved by
the beauty and peace of our sanctuary. However, our
faith tradition is that it is our faith and life that is carried
out in that kind of beauty and peace. The acoustics are
good and we love to sing a variety hymns and songs
that are expression of our faith. With our size and age
there is not a flurry of activity in the congregation. We conduct church business at quarterly meetings of the
whole congregation. Those days there is meal after church and then the meeting.
MISSION STATEMENT: Our church has and open door for all to enter, and they shall find within, a
congregation with this mission (taken from the fourth chapter of Ephesians). "The work of the ministry,
for the edifying of the body of Christ; till we all come in the unity of the faith, and the knowledge of the
Son of God........speaking the truth in love."
Kasson United Methodist Church
Like other congregations the heartbeat of Kasson United
MethodistChurch is the weekly worship service at 9am. John
Wesley said, "I look on all the world as my parish." At Kasson
United Methodist we live this sentiment by connecting to
people beyond our membership. We have scouts and dancers
and 4-Hers that meet in the building. Our members are active
with Habitat for Humanity, A Place at the Table , and Faith in
Action. Members are active in community service serving on councils and public service jobs. In all of this we
are intentionally living out the Methodist slogan "Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors."
MISSION STATEMENT: Make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
